For a dairy-free and vegan smoothie, be sure to use a non-dairy milk and protein powder (if using).  For a sweeter smoothie, add honey, maple syrup, agave or pitted dates before blending. For a paleo smoothie, be sure to use a paleo protein powder.

You can make this smoothie with fresh or frozen fruit. But my top tip is to use as many frozen ingredients as possible instead of ice. It'll help you get a cold, naturally thick smoothie (without diluting and watering down all the delicious flavors).
